Active For Life - Spring 2012 |
![]() |
All faculty and staff are invited to participate in the Active for Life program, a team-based, 10-week program that encourages you more physically active and eat healthier.Developed and supported by the American Cancer Society, Active for Life uses teams and an online point system to provide the social support and tracking that lead to successful lifestyle changes. Team captains provide encouragement and communications about weekly activities -- and teams are rewarded as members make progress toward their goals. It's easy, builds team spirit and helps you reach your personal wellness goals. You set goals based on your current activity level and how you want to commit to being active for the next 10 weeks. All types of physical activity count – whether its yard work, brisk walking, running or a group exercise class. You earn additional bonus points for participation in the fun weekly challenges and scheduled activities. Active for Life participants will need to form a small team of co-workers, friends, or colleagues or join a team as a Free Agent. Once you've formed a team, pick one person to be your Team Captain, who will help provide support and lead your team to victory in reaching your goals! Teams are rewarded as members make progress towards their goals. |
