Healthy Meetings and Events at UC Berkeley
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a healthful,
safe and inspiring place to live, work and study. The UC Berkeley
Guide for Healthy Meetings and Events represents a step toward that
commitment by ensuring faculty, staff and students have access to healthy
food and beverage choices at all campus-supported events serving refreshments.

Physical Activity Breaks for Meetings
- Lift Off! is a 5-minute fun, low-impact activity for use
at meetings and events that supports group participation with simple
callisthenic movements done to music. Developed by UCLA's School of
Public Health, Lift Off! was specifically designed for the
workplace and accommodates all shapes, sizes and abilities and is
appropriate for large or small groups. To use the Lift Off! 5-minute

BEN is a professional networking group that provides information on
resources, tips, and policies of interest to UC Berkeley event planners.

This comprehensive training program for campus event planners is offered
by University Relations with seminar leaders from University Events
and Ceremonies.
Food Banks or Shelters for Donations
If you anticipate having leftover food from a meeting or event, some
food banks or shelters may be happy to accommodate you and pick up your
leftovers or provide directions for droping-off leftovers. Advance planning
is helpful, as you may need to leave a phone message so that someone
from the organization can get back to you.
