Move Your Way 'Round the Bay is a FREE 12-week lifestyle incentive
program for faculty and staff sponsored by Health*Matters. You can log
your activity, make lasting changes to your diet, and discover how easy
it can be to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Move Your Way 'Round the Bay 2008
June 4 - August 27, 2008
The goal of the Move Your Way 'Round the Bay program is to achieve
30 minutes of activity a day, or 10,000 steps a day if you have a pedometer,
4 days a week for 12 weeks. You can keep track of your minutes or steps
on activity logs and measure your progress on the Bay Area Map. Each
week we will send you an email with tips, ideas, healthy recipes and
motivation for adding activity to your day. There will also be a Nutrition
Challenge every other week to support healthy eating habits.
If you join the program you will earn a Certificate of Participation
and have many opportunities to win prizes such as an iPod Shuffle, store
gift cards, pedometers, massages gift certificates at Rec Sports, and
health materials.
Getting Started
- Step 1 - Register
online at http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB227PKV6L628 to
receive your program materials and Welcome Packet (sent to you through
campus mail). Your Welcome Packet will contain your Weekly Tracking
Logs and Bay Area Progress Map. You MUST register to be eligible
to win any prizes.
- Step 2 - On Wednesday, June 4, 2008 start recording the minutes
of activity you complete each day or, if you use a pedometer, the
number of steps you take.
- Step 3 - Return your Weekly Tracking Logs (either by fax
or campus mail) at the half-way mark (by Wednesday, July 23) and end
of the program (by Wednesday, September 3) to be entered into the
prize drawing:

'Round the Bay Kick-Off event! Take a fitness walk through campus,
get your free Health*Matters t-shirt, and be eligible to win prizes!
If you are interested in using a pedometer
for the program to count your steps, Health*Matters will have available
Accusplit Eagle 120 XL Step Counter for purchase during the Kick-Off
event. The cost of the pedometer is $12.00 (this price includes tax
and is 40% off the retail price of $20). Please pay by cash (exact change
preferred) or check (made out to UC Regents).

Health*Matters Walking Group and find some fitness, fun, energy,
and support!
The Walking Group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at
12:10 by the South side of the Campanile. Led by Walking Leaders,
the Health*Matters Walking Group takes you on different routes through
campus and accommodates all levels of fitness walkers, from moderate
to brisk. Enjoy the benefits of walking by taking a 30-35 minute
walk through campus with your colleagues.

explore all Cal Rec Sports has to offer with a free, 30-day trial
membership for faculty and staff, available anytime in 2008 with
one trial membership per person per year. Register at the Cal Rec
