In order to promote health among UC Berkeley students, staff, faculty and guests, Health*Matters Wellness Program and the UC Berkeley Nutrition and Physical Activity Workgroup, in partnership with the City of Berkeley, strives to ensure access to healthy food and beverage choices on and around campus, including catering, restaurants, and vending. The Local, a UCB student cooperative-run produce stand, sells fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables on campus every Monday, 11-3, on Sproul Plaza in front of the MLK Student Union.
