Smoking cigarettes is an addiction. Tobacco contains nicotine, a drug that is highly addictive and difficult to quit; however, it is not impossible. Smoking greatly increases your risk for many diseases, such as lung cancer, respiratory illness, heart disease, and stroke. It also puts others around you at risk due to the negative effects of secondhand smoke. Quitting smoking helps improve your health as well as the health of those around you. The information and resources on this website can help support you with your decision to quit smoking.
