Tang Center Summer 2013 Hours

The Tang Center will be closed on Monday, May 27 for the Memorial Day Holiday. We will reopen with regular summer hours on Tuesday, May 28 at 8am. Find after hours assistance and referrals here.

Summer hours begin Saturday, May 18 - Saturday, August 31

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm general hours, with Urgent Care closing at 4:30pm.
Please check the schedule below for the hours of specific services during the summer.
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays (Saturday, May 18-Sunday, August 18), and holidays (Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27, Independence Day holiday on Thursday, July 4, and Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 2). Saturday service resumes Saturday, August 24, 2013.

After Hours Assistance	See After Hours Assistance for information and referrals for urgent and non-urgent problems, prescription refills, emergency contraception, and other services that may be needed when Tang Center is closed.
Career Counseling Library	Monday - Friday, 12 noon-5pm
CARE Services	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Appointments available during the noon hour.
Cashier Office	Monday - Friday, 8am-4:45pm (including noon hour).
Counseling (CPS)	Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm (including noon hour), except Thursdays 9am-4:30pm Emergency Counseling, Monday - Friday, 10am-4:30pm
Ergonomics Showroom	Call (877) 722-9090 toll-free to schedule an appointment to try adjustable chairs, tables and keyboard trays prior to purchase. Appointments are available on Tuesdays from 8am-12pm and on Wednesdays from 12-4pm.
Health Net	Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. 24-hour medical coverage is available for urgent concerns, including during University holidays and inter-sessions. Call (510) 642-1976 when the Tang Center is closed to be connected to the answering service.
Health Insurance Office	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (including noon hour), except Thursdays, 9am-5pm.
Health Promotion Unit	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Closed 12-1pm. Reduced services during the month of July, with no front reception service. Call (510) 642-7202 to schedule appointments; messages are checked daily.
Laboratory	Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
Massage Chair	Located in the Health Promotion Unit. Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Closed 12-1pm. Available by appointment only during the month of July.
Medical clinics	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Closed 11:45am-12:45pm.
Medical Records	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (including noon hour).
Occupational Health Clinic	Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm. Closed 11:45am-12:45pm.
Pharmacy	Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5pm (including noon hour). Closed 9:30-10:30am third Thursdays of the month. See Pharmacy Services if you need pharmacy assistance when we are closed.
Physical Therapy	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (last appointment 4pm). Closed 12-1pm and Thursdays, 11am-1pm.
Radiology	Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Closed 12-1pm.
Social Services	Monday - Friday 8am-4:45pm. Closed 11:45am-1 pm. The office will be closed all day July 11, 12, 15 and 30, phones will be monitored by counseling staff.
TB Testing	TB testing is provided in the Specialty Clinic (first floor, Tang) on a drop-in basis. Please note: No TB tests administered on Fridays prior to Monday holidays. Test administered: Monday 9-11:30am (return for reading on Thursday), Tuesday 2-4pm (return for reading on Thursday/Friday), Friday 2-4pm (return for reading on Monday) Test read: Thurs, Fri, and Monday, 9-11:30am and 1-4:30pm No tests administered on: Friday, May 24, Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day), Tuesday, June 25, Monday, July 1. Faculty/staff: For TB testing arranged by a campus department, please contact Occupational Health Clinic for details: (510) 642-6891.

Emergencies	For life-threatening emergencies, call 911. Also see Emergency/Crisis.
Urgent medical or mental health problems	If you have an urgent medical or mental health problem that cannot wait until the Tang Center is open: call the After Hours Assistance Line at (510) 643-7197 for immediate assistance. If you need to speak with a counselor urgently, you will be connected to the 24/7 counseling line. Cancel appointments	Medical appointments: Call (510) 643-7033, 24 hours a day, to cancel an appointment. You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or you will be billed a Late Cancellation Fee. Counseling appointments: Call (510) 642-9494 (CPS) or (510) 642-6074 (Social Services) 24 hours a day, to cancel an appointment. Emergency contraception	The Morning After Pill, used for emergency contraception (not birth control) needs to be taken within 72-120 hours of unprotected intercourse or a broken condom. (It is most effective if taken within 72 hours.) If you cannot wait for the Tang Center to open, check www.ec-help.org for pharmacies that provide emergency contraception. UHS Health Net members	Call (510) 642-1976 to make an appointment. If you have an urgent problem that cannot wait until the Tang Center is open, please call After Hours Assistance at (510) 643-7197 to reach the on-call doctor.
Insurance authorization	No authorization from the Student Health Insurance Office is required for visits to an emergency room or urgent care center when Tang is closed. Please provide facility with your Anthem Blue Cross card. Claims submitted to Anthem Blue Cross will be processed according to the SHIP benefits. All follow-up care must be authorized in advance by the Student Health Insurance Office.
