University Health Services-Tang
Center has several types of clinics tailored to meet the needs of busy Cal students.
When you call to schedule an appointment for medical care at the Tang Center,
please be prepared to describe the nature of your problem. You will be directed
to the clinic that best matches your needs. This can mean you may be transferred
to speak with an Advice Nurse, directed to Urgent Care, advised to come to a drop-in
clinic, or scheduled for a same-day or future appointment.

your UHS primary care clinician, the Tang Center offers the services of specialist
physicians in: Dermatology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Infectious Diseases,
Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (ENT), Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
Podiatry, Pulmonary, Repetitive Stress Injuries, Sports Medicine, and Urology.

- Call (510) 643-7177 (or
come to the Specialty Clinic appointment desk, located on the first floor) to
schedule an appointment.
- There are fees for these visits.

for travel clinic and immunizations | Travel and
immunization services are available to the campus communuity on a fee-for-service.

Appointments:
health education | Health educators work
in a confidential setting to assist students with learning about self-care and
healthy lifestyle choices. Topics include but are not limited to stress management,
lack of concentration, short term sleep problems, head/body aches, test anxiety
and sexuality problems. |
Appointments:
sexual health education | Trained peer
educators are available to talk about safer sex and how to make it fun, birth
control and emergency contraception, sexual communication and decision-making,
and more. Individuals and couples welcome. |

| If you can't remember the day and time of your appointment,
call (510) 642-2000 for most types of appointments or (510) 643-7177 if you know
the appointment is with a specialist. |
| Cancel an
appointment | Call (510) 643-7033, 24 hours a day, to cancel an appointment.
You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or you will be billed a Late Cancellation
Fee. If you scheduled an appointment online, you can also cancel
it online. |
| Request a specific
clinician | You can request a specific clinician if you
have someone in mind, or you can explain your need or problem when making an appointment.
We will make every effort to schedule you with an appropriate clinician at the
earliest possible date. |

| Crisis/emergency |
For life-threatening emergency, call 911. See Emergency
and Crisis for specific emergency and/or crisis situations, what to do and
referrals. When Tang is closed, check the resources provided in Emergency
and Crisis or you may call After Hours Assistance at (510) 643-7197 for referrals.

| Eligibility |
All
registered students are eligible to receive care at University Health Services
Tang Center, regardless of type of health insurance coverage. There are fees for Primary Care and Urgent Care visits, procedures,
lab tests, x-rays and medications if they are indicated. See Fees
