Lynne Alper, MD
Dr. Lynne S. Alper joined UHS in 1994 and serves as a Primary
Care Physician, working both in Urgent Care Clinic and in Primary
Care Clinic. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Alper
received her medical degree ('89) from the University of Southern
California and her bachelor's degree ('85) from Tufts University.
She completed her residency in Internal Medicine ('92) at Cedars
Sinai Medical Center.
In addition to her interest in college health, she has special
clinical interests in internal medicine (including asthma, pulmonary
conditions, migraine, diabetes, rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions,
anxiety and depression), travel medicine (pre- and post-travel
consultation), and eating disorders. She is also a member of the
Eating Disorders Treatment Team at UHS.

Katherine Bedeian, NP, MPH
Katherine Bedeian joined UHS in 2000 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She received her master's degree in Public Health ('92) from San
Jose State University and her master's degree in nursing ('96)
from University of California, San Francisco.

Josephine G. Billington, RN, NP, MPA
Jo Billington joined UHS in 1991 and serves as Clinical Services
Operations Director. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing
('73) from University of California, San Francisco and her master's
degree in Public Administration ('85) at Cal State Hayward in Health
Administration. She no longer sees patients, but was a Pediatric
and Gynecological Nurse Practitioner ('74-'90).
Billington worked for almost 20 years at La Clinica de la
Raza in Oakland, CA, which serves low income families. She
received the Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award ('04) and the
Berkeley Staff Assembly Certificate of Excellence in Management
('97) and ('05).

Anna Bloxham, MD
Dr. Anna Bloxham joined UHS in 2001 and serves as a Primary Care
Physician, working both in Urgent Care Clinic and in Primary Care
Clinic. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. She received
her bachelor's degree ('92) from University of California, Santa
Cruz and her medical degree ('98) from Yale University. She completed
her residency in Internal Medicine ('01) at University of California,
San Francisco. In addition to her interest in college health, she
has special clinical interests in tuberculosis, infectious diseases
& HIV, refugee health, and care of the underserved.
Bloxham also works at the City of Berkeley (Tuberculosis and
Communicable Disease Program), Berkeley Primary Care (community
clinic for patients who may not have insurance), and occasionally
at Alta Bates Hospital covering the HIV/AIDS service. She is a
volunteer physician for University of California, Berkeley-University
of California, San Francisco Suitcase Clinic.

Barbara Bodle, RN, MSN, MPH, FNP
Barbara Bodle has been a Nurse Practitioner at UHS since 1993.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing ('78) from Azusa
Pacific University, and her master's degree in nursing as a Family
Nurse Practitioner ('86) from University of California, San Francisco.
She then received her master's degree in Public Health ('87) from
University of California, Berkeley.
In addition to being a general practitioner with an interest
in college health, she has special clinical interests in eating
disorders and women's health.

Pamela Cameron, MSN, FNP
Pamela Cameron serves as Assistant Director, Clinical Services
and joined UHS in 1987. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner-Enterostomal
Therapy. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Skidmore
College and her master's degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt
College.

Cindy J. Chang, MD
Dr. Cindy Chang has served as Head Team Physician for Cal's 27
athletic teams since 1995. She is board certified in Family Medicine
and also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports
Medicine. After earning both her bachelor's degree ('84) and medical
('89) degrees from Ohio State, Chang completed her Family Practice
residency ('92) at University of California, Los Angeles before
returning to Ohio State University for a fellowship in Sports
Medicine. She was an elected four-year member of the Board of
Directors for the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine
(AMSSM), served on the Medical Education Committee for the American
College of Sports Medicine and currently serves on the Board of
Directors for the AMSSM Foundation.
Chang also is the author numerous publications in peer-reviewed
journals.

Michelle Dhanak, MD
Dr. Michelle Dhanak is a Contract Physician who joined UHS
in 1994, working in both Urgent Care Clinic and Primary Care Clinic.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dhanak received her
medical degree ('90) from the University of Massachusetts Medical
School in Worcester, MA and her bachelor's degree ('86) from Amherst
College. She completed her Internal Medicine residency ('93) at
Highland General Hospital in Oakland.

Sameer Dixit, MD
Dr. Sameer Dixit joined UHS in 2006 and serves as an Associate
Team Physician and a Primary Care Physician, working in both Urgent
Care Clinic and Primary Care Clinic. He is board certified in
Internal Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine. He received
his medical degree ('01) from University of Maryland and his bachelor's
degree ('95) from University of Pennsylvania. He completed his
Internal Medicine Residency ('04) at the McGaw Medical Center
of Northwestern University and then completed a fellowship in
Primary Care Sports Medicine ('06) at University of California,
Los Angeles. In addition to his interest in college health, he
has special clinical interests in primary care sports medicine,
injury prevention, and hypertension in athletes.
Dixit also is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed
journals.

Lee Marshall Fagen, RN, MSN, ANP
Lee Fagen serves as a nurse practitioner and has been with UHS since
1998. He is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner Certified
Specialist by the American Nurses' Credential Center. He received
his bachelor's degree in nursing ('90) from University of California,
San Francisco and his master's degree in nursing ('92) from the
University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing. In addition
to being a general practitioner with an interest in college health,
he has a special clinical interest in sexual health.
Fagen also serves as a Board Member for American Sexuality Magazine,
and he volunteered with the Peace Corps in Ecuador.

Tish Harwood, RN, NP
Tish Harwood joined UHS in 1978 and serves as an Adult Nurse
Practitioner. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing ('69)
at Cornell University and completed the University of California,
San Francisco Adult Nurse Practitioner Program ('76). In addition
to being a general practitioner with an interest in college health,
she has special clinical interests in chronic disease management
(e.g. asthma, allergy, hypertension, diabetes, and dermatology)
and women's health.
Harwood received the Tang Special Performance Award ('94) and
Tang Staff Bonus Award ('99). She also received the University
of California, San Francisco Preceptor of the Year Award ('01)
for precepting University of California, San Francisco Family
Nurse Practitioner students.

Elizabeth Hedelman, MD
Dr. Elizabeth Hedelman joined UHS in 1995 and serves a Primary
Care Physician in both Urgent Care Clinic and Primary Care Clinic.
She is board certified in Family Practice. She received her medical
degree from KU Medical Center at the University of Kansas and
her bachelor's degree ('86) from University of California, Santa
Barbara. She completed her residency in Family Practice ('95)
at University of California, Davis. In addition to her interest
in college health, she has a special clinical interest in eating
disorders.
Hedelman is also a Healthnet Provider, an Asthma Protocol Committee
member, a Migraine Protocol Committee chair, and a member of the
Eating Disorder Treatment Team at UHS.

Robert Kevess, MD
Dr. Bob Kevess is a Primary Care Physician in both Primary Care
Clinic and Urgent Care Clinic and has been with UHS since 1988.
He also staffs the UHS Minor Procedures Clinic. He is board certified
in Family Medicine. He received his medical degree ('84) from
the NYU School of Medicine and his bachelor's degree ('80) from
Brandeis University. He completed his residency in Family Medicine
('88) at San Francisco General Hospital. In addition to his interest
in college health, he has special clinical interests in depression
and anxiety, dermatology and minor skin procedures, musculoskeletal
problems, migraine, tuberculosis, eating disorders, men's health,
gay men's health, and transgender health including hormonal treatment.
Kevess serves as medical director and volunteer physician at
the Berkeley Free Clinic and volunteer physician for University
of California, Berkeley's Suitcase Clinic. He is also a member
of the California Physicians' Alliance, which works to promote
single payer health care.

Susan Light, RN, MSN, NP
Susan Light joined UHS in 1993 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She is board certified by the American Nurses' Association as
a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She received her bachelor's
degree ('73) at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, and
her master's degree in nursing and Nurse Practitioner Certification
('77) at Pace University/New York Medical College.
In addition to being a general practitioner with an interest
in college health, Light has special clinical interests in women's
health and family planning, and she is one of three clinicians
who insert IUDs.

Harris Masket, MD
Dr. Harris Masket joined UHS in 2004 and serves as Chief Physician
in Urgent Care Clinic and Associate Team Physician in Sports Medicine.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine. Masket received his
medical degree ('99) at the George Washington University School
of Medicine and his bachelor's degree ('93) at University of California,
Berkeley. Masket completed his residency in Internal Medicine
('02) at Alameda County Medical Center.
In addition to his interest in college health and Urgent Care,
he has special clinical interests in sports medicine, wound care,
and nutrition.

Maile C. Matier, RN, MSN, FNP-C
Maile Matier joined UHS in 1998 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner
in the Medical Clinics, Urgent Care, and the Allergy/Travel Clinic.
She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American
Nurses' Association. Matier received her bachelor's degree in nursing
from the University of Arizona and her master's degree in nursing
from Sonoma State University.
In addition to being a general practitioner with an interest
in college health, she has special clinical interests in asthma,
allergies, travel medicine, and women's health.

Debra Nelson, MD
Dr. Debra Nelson joined UHS in 1989 and serves as a Primary
Care Physician in Primary Care Clinic and Urgent Care Clinic.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine. She received her
medical degree ('81) from University of California, Los Angeles
and her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College. Nelson completed
her residency in Internal Medicine ('84) at the University of
California, Los Angeles San Fernando Valley Program.

Jeffrey D. Nelson, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Nelson serves both as a Primary Care Physician in
the Primary Care and Urgent Care Clinics and as an Associate Team
Physician. He has been with UHS since 1999. He is board certified
in Family Practice with a Certificate of Added Qualification in
Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree ('90) at Dartmouth
Medical School and his bachelor's degree ('86) at University of
California, Berkeley. He then completed the Flight Surgery training
program ('92) with the US Navy in Pensacola, Florida. Nelson completed
his residency in Family Practice ('97) at University of California,
Davis and a Fellowship in Sports Medicine ('99) in the University
of California, Davis/University of California, Berkeley combined
program.
Nelson is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports
Medicine (AMSSM) and the American Academy of Family Physicians
(AAFP). In addition, he serves as team physician for the Cal Men's
Soccer and Basketball teams.

Mpho Ratliff, RN, NP
Mpho Ratliff joined UHS in 1989 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing ('80) from San Francisco
State University, her bachelor's degree in Physical Education
('80) from San Francisco State University, and her master's degree
in nursing/nurse practitioner ('86) from University of California,
San Francisco.
In addition to being a general practitioner with an interest
in college health, she has special clinical interests in general
medicine, women's health, and dermatology.
Ratliff is also one of two colposcopists on staff.

Kerry Rogers, FNP
Kerry Rogers joined UHS in 1998 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received
her bachelor's degree from California State University, Hayward
and her master's degree in nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner
Program at University of California, San Francisco. In addition
to being a general practitioner with an interest in college health,
she has special clinical interests in the Travel Clinic and in Urgent
Care and Primary Care Clinics.
Rogers is also a member of the California Coalition of Nurse
Practitioners.

Adriana Schoenberg
Adriana Schoenberg is a nurse practitioner that has been with UHS
since 1985. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing and her PHN ('76)
from Cal State University, Hayward. She then received her Family
Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Certification ('81) at
University of California, Davis. In addition to being a general
practitioner with an interest in college health, she has special
clinical interests in mental health, women's health, and immigrant
health. She is one of three clinicians who insert IUDs.
Schoenberg serves as chair of the Eating Disorders Treatment
Team. She received the UHS Distinguished Service Award ('89, '94,
'96, '97, '99) and the University of California, Berkeley Excellence
in Management Award ('97).

Vicki Sommer joined UHS in 1992 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She is board certified by the American Nurses Association as a
Family Nurse Practitioner ('88). She received her bachelor's degree

degree in nursing ('81) from University of California, San Francisco
and her master's degree in nursing/clinical specialty: Family

Valerie Stoller, RN, FNP, MFT
Valerie Stoller serves as a Nurse Practitioner and has been with
UHS since 1991. She received her bachelor's degree ('73) from
Antioch College, her bachelor's degree in nursing ('77) from University
of California, San Francisco, and her FNP ('81) from University
of California, Davis. She then received her master's degree in
Clinical Counseling ('86) and in Marriage and Family Therapy ('88).
In addition to being a general practitioner with an interest
in college health, she has special clinical interests in dermatology,
women's health, eating disorders, and depression.

Robert E. Stuart, MD
Dr. Robert E. Stuart has served as the UHS Gynecologist since
1992. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received
his medical degree ('74) from University of California, Los Angeles
and his bachelor's degree ('70) from Stanford University. After
finishing an internship ('75) at the Santa Clara Valley Medical
Center, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
('78) at the Stanford University Medical Center. In addition to
his interest in college health, he has a special clinical interest
in colposcopy.
Stuart is a member of the American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists, the American College Health Association, and
the North American Society for Adolescent Gynecology.

Alice Sun joined UHS in 1996 and serves as a Nurse Practitioner.
She is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner with a specialty
in Occupational Health. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing
('85) from San Jose State University and her master's degree in
nursing ('93) from University of California, San Francisco. In addition
to being a general practitioner with an interest in college health,
she has special clinical interests in dermatology and urgent care.
Sun is also a member of the California Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Scott Swanson serves as a Primary Care Physician in both Primary
Care Clinic and Urgent Care Clinic and has been with UHS since
1984. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received
his medical degree ('78) from the University of Rochester School
of Medicine and his bachelor's degree ('74) from Stanford University.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine ('81) at the Alameda
County Medical Center, Highland General Hospital.
In addition to his interest in college health, Swanson has a
special clinical interest in adult internal medicine.

Dr. Rich Tittle joined UHS in 1977 and serves as a Primary Care
Physician in Primary Care Clinic. He is board certified in Internal
Medicine. He received his medical degree ('73) from Stanford University
and his bachelor's degree ('68) from Carleton College. He completed
his Internal Medicine Residency ('77) at Presbyterian Hospital and
University of California, San Francisco. In addition to his interest
in college health, he has special clinical interests in general
internal medicine, thyroid disorders, diabetes, and depression/anxiety.
Tittle also serves as Chair of Quality Improvement Committee
for Clinical Services at UHS.

Melodie Venturi, PA
Melodie Venturi is a Physician Assistant who joined UHS in 2001
and again in 2007. She received her PA ('79) at Charles Drew Postgraduate
Medical School.
Venturi was one of the founders ('86-'96) of the only women's
health collective in Brazil.

Ann Weissman, MD
Dr. Ann Weissman serves as Acting Medical Director and has been
with UHS since 1981. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
She received her medical degree ('77) from the Albert Einstein College
of Yeshiva University and her bachelor's degree ('69) from the City
University of New York. After finishing an internship in Internal
Medicine ('78) at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, she completed
her residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine ('80) at The Roosevelt
Hospital in New York. In addition to her interest in college health,
she has special clinical interests in general internal medicine,
rheumatology, infectious diseases, and psychiatry.
Weissman has been Associate Medical Director at UHS since 1992.

Mary Williams, RN, MSN, FNP
Mary Williams is a Nurse Practitioner who joined UHS in 2005.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing ('85) from Rush
University in Chicago and her master's degree in nursing ('90)
from University of California, San Francisco.
