Health and Welfare Benefits for Domestic Visiting Scholars
EFFECTIVE 12/1/2010: All domestic visiting scholars and visiting student researchers are required to show proof of health insurance that meets specified benefit levels. As of September 1, 2010, domestic visiting scholars (US citizens, permanent residents or US passport holders) can enroll in the new UC Berkeley Visiting Scholar Benefit Plan (UCBVSBP) offered through Garnett-Powers & Associates (“GPA”).
All domestic scholars whose appointment date is on or after 12/1/2010 are required to complete an enrollment form to purchase the UC Berkeley Visiting Scholar Benefit Plan or waive (opt out of) enrollment.

University Health Services - Tang Center
