Elder Abuse

Elder Abuse Prevention of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties sponsors the Senior Fraud Fighter Bureau, a program to educate and enhance awareness of fraud directed at older adults. Alameda County

Alameda County Adult and Aging Services
The Department of Adult and Aging Services provides services through Adult Protective Services (APS), IN-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Medi-Cal Long Term Care, the Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services, the Public Guardian/Conservator, the Qualifies Medicare Beneficiary Unit (QMB), Veterans Services, the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), and subcontracted services under the Older Americans and Californians Acts.

Adult Day Services Network of Alameda County
Adult Day Services provide supervised daytime programs to frail elders and adults with physical/mental limitations, thus prolonging nursing home placement, and providing respite for caregivers. Meals, transportation, and therapeutic activities, included.

Alameda County Network of Care
A company dedicated to improving information and communication in the health and social service fields at the community level. Works primarily with state and county governments and other local human service entities to establish one-stop information places, centered on highly interactive, community-based Web sites.

Respite

Adult Day Services in Alameda County

Camp for Caring is a weekend retreat for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, or a related disorder. Offered by the Family Caregiver Alliance, caregivers of adults with cognitive impairment are given the opportunity to have 48 hours of respite while their loved one enjoys a 2-night stay with trained staff and volunteers ina one-on-one non-institutional, scenic Bay Area setting. Camp for Caring is available 4 times per calendar year. Fees are on a sliding scale basis and range from$125 to $250 per person for the entire weekend. Contact:
