Responding to Deaths of Faculty, Staff, Students, and Families

One of the most difficult of times is when a member of our campus community dies. Death calls for the most compassionate of responses, but sometimes people are uncertain about what should be done for family, friends and colleagues.

While each life and death is unique, and individual judgment is always necessary, "The Guidelines for Responding to Death" were developed to help the campus respond thoroughly and consistently to the needs of family and colleagues.
